Our client is an early-stage fintech startup in the sports betting space. They integrate with sportsbooks and automatically divert a user-defined percentage of betting activity into savings or investment accounts, helping users build long-term wealth while they play. With innovation and collaboration at their core, they are transforming how sports bettors interact with their money and building a healthier financial future for their users.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Tech Lead who combines technical mastery with grit, ownership, and strong communication. You’ll lead the development of Regen’s core platform across frontend and backend, own critical integrations with sportsbooks and financial partners, and collaborate closely with the founders and existing engineer to ship high-impact product features. This role is for someone who is proactive, highly accountable, and comfortable in a scrappy startup environment — you take initiative in the face of ambiguity, care deeply about the product and mission, and execute on what matters without needing micromanagement.

You Will:

  • Lead development of Regen’s core platform across frontend and backend, with a strong focus on React Native and full-stack fintech.
  • Build and maintain integrations with sportsbooks and financial APIs (e.g., Plaid, banking or brokerage partners).
  • Architect scalable backend systems for financial transactions, data pipelines, and user account management.
  • Help manage, organize, and improve engineering processes while collaborating with the existing engineer in Argentina.
  • Own technical conversations with clients around integrations, APIs, and backend architecture, representing the company in English on calls with enterprise/publicly traded clients.
  • Work closely with the founders to translate product ideas and business requirements into production-ready features.
  • Help define and enforce engineering best practices, security standards, and fintech infrastructure patterns.
  • Create and refine processes (not just follow them), ensuring follow-through and organization across the engineering workstream.
  • Collaborate in a flexible, outcome-oriented way.

About You:

Your Background:

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong full-stack development experience across frontend and backend, ideally including React Native.
  • Experience building fintech, payments, banking, or trading platforms.
  • Experience integrating with financial APIs such as Plaid, Stripe, and/or banking or brokerage infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of security, authentication, and handling financial/PII data.
  • Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment, owning large parts of the product and operating without heavy structure.
  • Excellent communication skills — fluent in English and Spanish, able to speak confidently with non-technical stakeholders and enterprise/publicly traded company clients.
  • Able to own processes end-to-end, be highly organized, and operate without needing close supervision.
  • You care about the mission, are interested in equity, and want to be a core, long-term part of the company rather than a 9–5 “just a job” employee.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience building consumer-facing fintech products.
  • Experience working with financial compliance concepts (e.g., KYC, AML).
  • Experience with data integrations, real-time systems, or event-driven architectures.
  • Prior experience in very small startups (sub-10 people) where everyone “wears multiple hats.”
  • Experience mentoring or informally guiding other engineers while still being very hands-on.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation: $4,000–7,000 USD/month
