The purpose of this role is to provide ongoing compliance and regulatory support on an in-house engagement basis, ensuring regulatory compliance across the organization. The role involves enabling a clear understanding of the regulatory landscape, spreading this knowledge throughout the company, from top management to daily operations. You will provide solutions and identify opportunities that support local and international business development, promote and support strategic and business priorities from a regulatory compliance perspective, and offer support for Betano operations in Brazil by liaising with external local legal advisors.
As a Compliance Officer, you will:
- Maintain legal and regulatory compliance by researching and communicating requirements, creating action plans and obtaining approvals by the regulatory body in Brazil;
- Accurately and timely advise management and company executives, supporting them on arising day-to-day legal regulatory matters of Kaizen’s local operations in Brazil;
- Develop and support regulatory policies after consulting with internal and external stakeholders, incorporating future trends and current facts;
- Liaise with local external legal counsel, as well as with Independent Regulatory Authorities, Law enforcement agencies, governmental and non-governmental authorities, etc., including providing formal responses to said authorities when deemed necessary;
- Conduct risk assessments and internal audits with regards to legal and regulatory compliance requirements on operational, technical, and support processes;
- Facilitate compliance audits performed by regulatory authorities;
- Spread the compliance culture throughout the company by training and other means.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Law;
- 2-5 years of experience in compliance or legal preferably within a regulated industry (e.g., gaming, tech, fintech, telecom, financial services).
- Experience in managing regulatory requirements and interfacing with regulators;
- Experience with applying legal and regulatory requirements in a business context, with a strong ability to translate legal language into practical guidance.
- Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks;
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels;
- A tech orientation and passion for innovation and the industry are a strong plus;
- Fluency in English;
- Graduate/ postgraduate degree in Finance/ Business/ Political Science would be a strong plus.
