Senior Front-End Developer

Job Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the reimagined architecture of the application while working closely with the development team
• Ensure a complete rework of the user workflows and the application’s UX
• Consistently incorporate new and innovative features to maintain the company’s leadership position and reputation for technical rigor
• Write fresh code and immediately see the impact of your work
• Assess tradeoffs between various front-end frameworks as they apply to the specific needs of the application
• Take ownership of the codebase and write code for the front-end
• Work with UX designers to modernize the application’s styling in a modular and reusable manner
• Occasionally design and implement stopgap views until designs are available from UX
• Build upon the base of interactive charts and tables to serve user-driven analytics
• Integrate and maintain an end-to-end test framework
• Work with client-facing consulting staff to understand and anticipate client needs
• Design, build, and maintain the features and functionality to meet and exceed those needs in a manner that delights users
• Investigate, resolve bugs, and improve performance
• Stay informed on innovations and best practices and bring these to the team

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3-5+ years of relevant experience as a front-end developer
• Experience using Tailwind and CSS
• Aesthetic sense and fluency with UX design
• Comfortable building front-end views
• Solid experience with JavaScript and jQuery
• Experience developing with MVC web frameworks
• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails Hotwire (Turbo and Stimulus)
• Experience building end-to-end tests for modern front-ends
• Experience with GitHub and Heroku
• Passionate about tackling climate change and environmental justice through the value of software
