Software Engineer

This opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong backend development skills in technologies such as Java, Node.js, Go, or Rust. A Cybersecurity or SecOps background is highly preferred, particularly for candidates with hands-on experience in secure software development, application security, penetration testing, or security-focused code reviews. No prior AI experience is required—your software engineering expertise is what matters.

Scope of Work

• Build and maintain reinforcement learning environments that exercise real backend programming tasks.
• Write backend services and the supporting code that powers those environments, using Java, Python, Node.js, Go, Rust, or similar.
• Write thorough unit and integration tests. Test coverage is central to this role, not an afterthought.
• Review code for correctness, performance, maintainability, and security, and give clear feedback to other engineers.
• Solve programming tasks and document your technical reasoning so it can be used to improve AI model quality.
• Work asynchronously with a distributed team and write down engineering decisions clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong experience in backend software development using Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, or similar technologies.
• Proven experience building scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Experience with debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and code review.
• Cybersecurity/SecOps experience or exposure is highly preferred, including areas such as application security, secure coding, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, OWASP, CWE, or security-focused code reviews.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working effectively in remote, distributed teams.
• Familiarity with AI, data-driven, or large-scale technical projects is a plus.
