Role Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Technical Recruiter who will individually own the end-to-end closure of frontier AI, ML, and backend roles. This is not a traditional TA manager role. It is a high-impact recruiting position requiring technical fluency, first principles sourcing, and persuasive outreach. You will identify, engage, and close exceptional global talent who will help Proximity build world-class AI products and engineering platforms.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the end-to-end closure of senior AI, ML, multimodal, backend, and engineering hires globally.
  • Build adjacency maps of companies, labs, and communities working on relevant frontier problems.
  • Generate technical screening prompts, knockout questions, and rubrics independently.
  • Source beyond LinkedIn. Leverage GitHub, arXiv, OSS repos, Kaggle, Twitter, Discord, Substack, niche forums, and micro-communities.
  • Craft and execute compelling outreach campaigns using artifact-first hooks and Proximity’s track record as trusted partners to global sports, media, and entertainment leaders.
  • Drive urgency by compressing interview loops, managing notice-period negotiations and buyouts, and delivering offers quickly.
  • Ensure evidence-backed sourcing with GitHub repos, demos, papers, and talks, while maintaining a world-class candidate experience.

What You’ll Need

  • Proven track record as an individual contributor recruiter, not just a TA manager.
  • Demonstrated success sourcing and closing frontier AI, ML, backend, or engineering talent globally.
  • Strong technical comprehension. Comfortable with transformer fine-tuning, multimodal pipelines involving video, audio, and text, MLOps stacks, scalable backend systems, and related domains.
  • Evidence of artifact-based sourcing such as GitHub repos, OSS contributions, research papers, or competition wins.
  • Experience in persuasive multi-touch outreach campaigns and passive talent conversion.
  • Global exposure and ability to recruit across India, EU, LATAM, or other regions with cost-sensitive hiring strategies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience hiring for early-stage or hypergrowth AI and ML product teams.
  • Success recruiting engineers in video generation, lip-sync, diffusion, audio processing, or real-time streaming.
  • Familiarity with ad-tech hiring at scale (RTB, personalization, streaming infrastructure).
  • Portfolio of outreach copy or campaigns with proven conversion results.

What Success Looks Like

  • 6 to 8 successful frontier hires per quarter across India, EU, and LATAM markets.
  • At least 80 percent of sourced candidates are evidence-backed through OSS, papers, or demos.
  • At least two positive replies per 10 passive outreach attempts.
  • SLA adherence: under 8 hours for feedback loops, under 10 days time-to-offer on urgent roles.
  • Candidate satisfaction NPS of 8 or higher.
